Charles Adu Boahen denies receiving a bribe from investors.



According to Charles Adu Boahen, Dr. Bawumia simply needs $200,000 as an appearance fee and a few investment positions for his siblings to win his support and influence in launching a company in Ghana. 

Charles Adu Boahen, the troubled Minister of State for Finance who was exposed by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has refuted claims that he accepted bribes from financiers. 

The embattled Charles Adu Boahen has denied allegations that he accepted payments from investors and sold his power under the guise of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. 

In a Facebook post, he asserted that there had been an attempt to frame him in the previous year.



Charles Adu Boahen disputes receiving kickbacks from investors. 

He further stated that he will cooperate with the proper authorities to undertake extensive investigations to prove his innocence and that he is innocent of all charges brought against him.

With immediate effect, the president revoked the appointment of the Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance. 

Charles Adu Boahen was fired from his job earlier today, according to a statement issued by Eugene Arhin, director of presidential communications.


The President spoke with Mr. Adu Boahen after becoming aware of the accusations made against the Minister in the exposé "Galamsey Economy," and then he decided to terminate his appointment and refer the case to the Special Prosecutor for additional investigation, according to the statement.

The President thanked Mr. Adu Boahen for the outstanding work he has carried out for the nation since being appointed in 2017 and wished him well in all of his upcoming undertakings. 

Charles Adu Boahen has refuted allegations of accepting bribes from investors with all of them.
